HomeServe Completes Over 466,000 Home Emergency Repairs in 2023
Saves North American Homeowners Over $290 million
NORWALK, CT – Feb. 1, 2024 - HomeServe North America, a leading provider of home emergency repair solutions with nearly five million customers across the U.S. and Canada, is pleased to share its 2023 residential infrastructure repair, homeowner savings and customer service results. Between Jan. 1 – Dec. 31, HomeServe completed more than 466,000 repairs and installations, saved customers over $290 million in out-of-pocket home repair expenses, and achieved a satisfaction rating of 4.8 out of 5 stars from customers responding to a post-repair survey.
HomeServe provides subscription-based emergency home repair plans that cover major household systems, such as plumbing, electrical and HVAC. HomeServe partners with more than 1,300 municipalities and utilities to bring customizable suites of these repair products to homeowners in communities across North America.
“Customers are at the heart of everything we do; it’s as simple as that. Economic headwinds and inflation – even if now moderately lower than in the past two years – persist and continue impacting homeowners everywhere. So, doing our part to help our customers save hundreds of millions of dollars last year – and doing it with an experience that is second to none – is core to why we do what we do,” Tom Rusin, HomeServe North America CEO, said. “We hear quite a bit about aging infrastructure, but commentary isn’t often directed toward residential infrastructure, which is our focus. And it’s why the skilled technicians who work for HomeServe and the small business contractors we work with repair the systems that allow people to stay safely in their homes.”
HomeServe’s Chattanooga, Tennessee-based Contact Center operates 24/7/365, making it possible for customers to call in with their emergencies any time they happen – including holidays. Even over the Christmas and New Year holidays, HomeServe performed more than 10,800 repairs for homeowners who experienced a repair emergency for an average of 1,350 a day.
“‘I don’t have time for this! Who’s going to fix it? And how much is it going to cost?’ That’s the thought process people go through when something goes wrong at home, and it’s even more anxiety-inducing when it’s after hours, or worse, on a holiday,” Rusin said. “On top of that, it’s circumstances like these when people are more at risk for being taken advantage of by unscrupulous contractors. When people are desperate to get something fixed before family and friends arrive, they don’t have time to search for a reputable contractor. The holidays already add expense and stress to our customers’ lives, so I’m proud our teams were able to ensure celebrations could continue instead of making it feel like people got a lump of coal.”
HomeServe’s 4.8-star rating is based on over 113,000 post-service customer reviews, representing nearly 25% of all 2023 repairs. The score also indicates that 96% of customers’ claims and interactions were exceptional. Below are two recent pieces of feedback from customers following their repair experience.

"I've been with Home Serve for about 8 years or more- can't remember, but they are my go-to for my home needs - seriously. Home Serve fills in that gap and I am to breathe easy, knowing if there is a plumbing problem, sewage issue, and heating and AC defect- I can call them oppose to what I use to do- panicked- call around- panicked more. I like it- that I can go to one company, and they send me what I need. HomeServe u rock - thank u!!!" Norma J., Baltimore, Maryland; Dec. 29, 2023.
