NJ Man Relies on HomeServe to Keep Home Running

Sheldon has saved thousands of dollars with his plans from HomeServe and avoided the inconvenience of finding and scheduling a contractor more than 20 times.

“I have every plan that HomeServe has available to me in my zip code, except the air conditioning one,” he said. “That’s because I don’t have a home air conditioning system. I’ve had to call a couple times for the gas boiler and a few other things. I get the boiler checkup for the winter, too.”

Recently, Sheldon was completing his morning routine when he realized that his shower was barely lukewarm.

“I just couldn’t get it as hot as I liked it,” he said. “Since the weather’s been hot, it wasn’t too much of an inconvenience, but I definitely like it hotter.”

Because he wasn’t satisfied with his lukewarm wake-up call, Sheldon went to investigate his water heater.

“I looked down at the floor and saw a puddle there,” he said. “I realized the water heater was leaking.”

“I have every plan that HomeServe has available to me in my zip code, except the air conditioning one. That’s because I don’t have a home air conditioning system."

By this point, Sheldon knew the drill. When he had a repair problem at his Ventnor City, N.J. home, he called HomeServe.

This time, a highly qualified plumber from South Jersey Energy Service Plus by HomeServe was dispatched to assess the issue. It was quickly found that the water heater’s tank had deteriorated to the point that Sheldon would need a new water heater.

“The tech, Ike, who came out said I needed a new water heater, took some pictures of the old one and texted them over to (HomeServe),” Sheldon said. “The next day, another tech, Jesse, came over and brought a new water heater. He left everything a lot better than when he arrived – he took everything with him, the old water heater and the packaging from the new one went back into his van and he picked up all his tools.

“Now I’m able to get a nice, hot shower in the morning. I’m very pleased with HomeServe.”
