It started with a gurgle in the bathtub and ended with a $1,500 repair bill. Fortunately for Linda H. of Lewisville, Texas, she had HomeServe on her side.
“I could not do without (HomeServe),” she said. “I can’t imagine that anyone would have a complaint.”
Linda had been having an issue with her sewer line that was usually resolved with a quick visit from the reliable plumbers at Crawford Services in nearby Grand Prairie to auger her sewer line.
“I’ve had this a couple times,” she said. “Maybe once a year, it backs up outside the house and (the grey water) flows back into the front bathroom and tub. I would notice a bubbling, gurgling noise.”
This time, however, Linda noticed that, in addition to the noises that usually alerted her that she needed to have a plumber visit, grey water was actually flowing up into her tub. Since she had had repairs done through HomeServe before, she knew she needed to make a call.
“If the scales goes up to ten, then I would say that they (HomeServe customer service agents) are an eleven,” Linda said of the communication she received.
After hearing about Linda’s drain troubles, HomeServe dispatched her favorite local plumbers, Crawford Services.

“They are an eleven, too,” she said. “They are never late. (Technician) Austin was awesome. I really appreciated all the extra effort he put in. He got a camera, looked at it and said that there was a problem in another place and they would have to come and dig it up the next day.”
The additional problem Austin had spotted was a break in Linda’s sewer line, and the Crawford Services team needed to excavate a three-foot deep hole to remove and replace five feet of the line that had failed. If Linda didn’t have a plan from HomeServe, it would have cost her more than $1,500. But since she was covered, she paid nothing for the repair.
Crawford returned the next day and made sure Linda’s line was flowing smoothly.
“They were awesome,” she said. “They came back the next morning and they were so efficient. I would recommend Crawford Services for anything.”
Linda was glad to have HomeServe on her side, after having dealt with other warranty companies in the past that had drawn out the repairs she needed.
I recommend HomeServe all the time,” she said. “If you don’t have it, go (sign up) for it. I’m with (HomeServe) for life. It’s been a lifesaver.
